The study and practice of psychism is fascinating to people all over the world. I was especially moved to write this blog after seeing a show on Oprah about three psychics speaking of their experiences and admitting that they had no idea how this works nor had any control over their abilities! The show also had two people who doubted the phenomenon even existed. I have seen such TV shows before, but this one moved me to write something. I felt that each person on the show was seeing the higher worlds through a little window and they were not able to see a bigger picture. I listened to all of them and thought to myself, I wish I could explain how psychism works so that people would not be prone to information that was partially accurate and in some instances, totally misleading. The psychics who were interviewed certainly had harmless intentions, but had no idea how psychism works. There is more to psychism than what we see on TV or read in popular books and magazines. Here is a brief essay on my thoughts on this subject.

In the Ancient Wisdom Teachings, great teachers always emphasized the wisdom of staying far away from dangerous psychic practices, and encouraged the development of our protective psychic shield. They taught that there are two kinds of psychism. One is called lower psychism and one is called higher psychism.
