The Great Invocation was given to humanity in 1945. This is the original version.
 

From the point of Light within the mind of God
Let light stream forth into the minds of men.
Let Light descend on Earth.

From the point of Love within the Heart of God
Let love stream forth into the hearts of men.
May Christ return to Earth.

From the centre where the Will of God is known
Let purpose guide the little wills of men -
The purpose which the Masters know and serve.

From the centre which we call the race of men
Let the Plan of Love and Light work out.
And may it seal the door where evil dwells.

Let Light and Love and Power restore the Plan
on Earth.

This world prayer was given to humanity by the Tibetan Master over a period of time from 1935 to 1945 in three parts. The version seen above is the third stanza in its original form and the one most in use today. If you feel the need to say the entire three stanzas, they are beautiful and very powerful, you can do so (see Prayers, Mantrams, and Invocations for all three versions). In times of great stress and crises, it is very important that we unite in the recitation of this very important mantram.

"This Great Invocation has been used by the Hierarchy ever since the year 1425 A.D. though it is thousands of years older than that. Owing, however, to the unreadiness of humanity to cooperate in its use, the results have been delayed and are regarded as "hovering." I know not how else to express the results already achieved. Today, they can precipitate, if right cooperation can be extended to humanity, and such cooperation now seems immediately possible."

Torkom Saraydarian writes that this very powerful mantram should be recited exactly as it is. It should not be changed to fit what we think are the right wording. In Triangles of Fire, he states the following:

"At this time, the Great Invocation is the greatest aid to humanity. The fulcrum, the axis of the Great Invocation, is Christ - the reappearance of the great Lord, Christ.

"Great Teachers, such as H.P. Blavatsky, Master Djwhal Khul, and Master M., tell us that Christ is a living individual, a living human being Who, because of His unparalleled progress, became the Head of the Hierarchy. He will hold that position for another two thousand years."

"Some people like the Great Invocation because of its vision and power, but they do not like to use the word "Christ." They give themselves permission to change the Great Invocation, which was not originated by them. Changing or deleting the Name of Christ eliminates the focus of the energies. It can even be harmful to those who use the Great Invocation for their personal or group advantages.

"Mantrams are like chemical or geometrical formulas; changing one word gives the mantram an entirely different result, or makes it misleading, dangerous or useless. Mantrams are transmitters of energy. When the transmitter is not constructed in a particular order, the energies can be destructive or negative, creating confusion and chaos in the subtle planes of human endeavor. Many mental disorders are the result of a misuse of prayers, mantrams and chanting. Let us not forget that the Hierarchy uses the Great Invocation in its original form every day.

"Those who, with good intentions, want to change the Great Invocation, would do better to create a totally different invocation of their own - instead of distorting a masterpiece painting with their unskilled brush."

Torkom Saraydarian writes that the Great Invocation is a powerful tool to bring the Divine Light, Love, and Power to our planet. It becomes more powerful when three people recite it daily at an appointed time. If you wish to create a triangle, follow the simple procedure outlined below:

How to Form a Triangle of Light

1. Find two friends who want to recite the Invocation with you. All three do not have to be in the same proximity.
2. Set a time to say it together.
3. Once one triangle is established, you can form up to five triangles with other people.
4. Remember that the power of the Invocation increases with attention, visualization, and creative thinking.
5. Sit comfortably, visualize the other two participants.
6. Visualize a golden thread linking the three of you.
7. Focus your mind as high as possible, and recite the Great Invocation.
8. Pause between stanzas, visualize the participants, before continuing with the next stanza.
9. When completed, sit relaxed for a moment, and then continue with your daily duties.
